Fuel cell vehicles will usher in rapid development

August 19, 2016 (First) Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Technology and Industry Symposium was held in Beijing. The seminar is sponsored by China Electrotechnical Society, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Machinery Branch, SAIC, Dongfeng, Chang'an, Beijing Futian, Yutong Bus, Zhongtong Bus and other auto groups and senior technical experts, major Energy groups, research institutes and well-known fuel cell companies participated in the seminar.
The seminar held a series of technical exchanges on hydrogen energy and fuel cell technology progress, industrial planning and related policies, stationary fuel cell power generation technology, fuel cell technology for transportation, hydrogen energy and infrastructure construction. Through in-depth discussion of hydrogen fuel cell technology, proposed hydrogen fuel cell technology research bottlenecks and solutions to further promote hydrogen fuel cell technology upgrading and industrial development.
It is learned that in order to promote the development of fuel cell vehicles, the State Council has specially deployed "National Medium and Long-term Science and Technology Development Plan (2006-2020)" and "Energy-saving and New-energy Vehicle Industry Development Plan (2012-2020)" Development of fuel cell vehicles, plans to increase research and development and investment in three key areas of basic devices, fuel cell systems, infrastructure and demonstration, and proposed in the next few years to overcome thin metal bipolar plate surface modification technology, vehicle fuel Battery durability technology, promote the construction of hydrogen refueling station and demonstration of fuel cell vehicles and many other work.
Among the various types of fuel cells, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles that have been marketed for more than 10 years are regarded as inexhaustible sources of energy and are referred to by experts as "the best-developing fuel cell in the world." According to participants, At present, hydrogen fuel electric car policy is good, after the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry, National Development and Reform Commission released "on 2016-2020 new energy vehicles to promote the use of financial support policy notice" on pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles Subsidy standards for the implementation of the mechanism of withdrawal, but the subsidy standards for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles have not been lowered, and even some individual models have improved. Four ministries and commissions of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles subsidies for individual cars can not be seen rising or falling rise of countries on the fuel cell vehicle industry with special emphasis on the development.
According to Beijing Polytechnic University School of Mechanical and Vehicle Dean, electric vehicles, the National Engineering Laboratory, Professor He Hongwen introduced in the fuel cell field, the front is Japan and South Korea and the United States. In 2014, the United States shipped 140MW of fuel cells, three times more than in the Asia-Pacific region and enjoyed rapid growth. Followed by Japan and South Korea as the representative of Asia. The United States has the fastest growing fuel cell in the past five years, thanks largely to the strong support from the US Department of Energy and the Department of Defense. The U.S. government identified hydrogen and fuel cells as one of the technologies that are crucial and will develop in order to sustain economic prosperity and national security. Japan supports fuel cells more than any other country, and the fuel cell is truly clean. The core patent line in Japan is clearly defined as the future direction of development. According to NavigantResearch forecast that by 2024, annual sales of various types of fuel cell vehicles will reach 228,000. At present, FCV vehicles at home and abroad have already passed the stage of technology development, and entering the stage of market introduction, reducing costs and strengthening the construction of hydrogen refueling stations become the focus. At present, several OEMs have successively launched fuel cell models such as FAW, Dongfeng, Chery, Changan, Yutong and SAIC. Hyundai, Toyota and Honda have already taken the lead in introducing the first generation of mass-produced products and Mercedes-Benz, BMW and General Motors He Hongwen, who will launch mass production in 2018-2020, said that at present, the cost of fuel cells is very high. There are not many resources invested in the whole industry chain, resulting in relatively high costs in all links. This is one of the major dilemmas of fuel cell promotion. In addition, the accumulation of independent intellectual property rights of fuel cell stacks in China is limited, and enterprises involved in the development of fuel cell technologies are limited, making it difficult to achieve the industry benefits of lithium batteries. The scale of participating enterprises is limited and their core independent technologies are limited, resulting in poor cost controllability.
Jin Yinshi, a researcher at China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, said although it seems that there are some problems with fuel cells at present, the advantages are outstanding. Firstly, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles can start up rapidly through proton exchange membrane, and other oxides can rapidly start up at temperature Increased to 1000 degrees, not suitable for frequent start, it is generally used in the car is (proton exchange membrane) hydrogen fuel cell. Second, the fuel cell has a fuel tank that requires hydrogen to be placed in the fuel tank for power generation, so hydrogen charging takes less time and is comparable to refueling duration. Third, the fuel cell power plant uses electrochemical power generation, first into thermal energy combustion, then into electricity, under normal circumstances, the power generation efficiency is relatively low. However, cogeneration has now become industrialized in Japan, dramatically improving fuel efficiency. In addition, there is no noise in the fuel power generation process, and the fuel cell is essentially hydrogen and oxygen. The chemical reaction produces water, and the environmental protection performance is outstanding.
Beiqi Fukuda car productivity expert, chief engineer Ren Long from the point of view, the current fuel cell vehicles in the pre-industrial, is expected to enter the rapid eruption of 2020.
