ZF thruster uses Ecoshield reinforced coating to extend life

ZF Marine Krimpen applied Subsea Industries' Ecoshield reinforced coatings (purchased from the product library) for its azimuth thrusters (purchasing supplies) nozzles and underwater parts for inland waterway operations.

The Dutch-based ZF Marine Krimpen is a division of the German ZF Group. Currently, ZF Marine Krimpen is using Ecoshield coatings on propellers for several US customers to reduce wear and tear in brown water such as the Mississippi River.

ZF Marine hopes to improve the protection of the underwater part of the propeller and to prevent damage caused by cavitation corrosion caused by intrinsic waterways, especially the common waste, sand and silt of the Mississippi River.

ZF Marine offers a choice of Ecoshield propellers as an option to demonstrate that the coating is a very good solution for prolonging the life of the tugboat (ship type shipyard) and pusher (ship type shipyard) propeller life in shallow water. . The coating not only does not cause propeller damage, but also reduces maintenance and operating costs. These advantages are not only reflected in the tugboat, but also in port tugs and passenger ships (ship-type shipyards).
