After ore sorting, the grade can only reach 62%, the concentrate recovery rate is only 40%, and the tailings grade is as high as 20%. Due to the limitations of the technical conditions at the time, this part of the ore had to be temporarily stored. In the first phase of the stope, the ore stockpiles have gradually reached 6.3 million tons. Stockpiling ore not only takes up a lot of funds, but also to suppress the lower part 3 # ore body, affecting the mining expansion to help.

At the same time, Hebei Iron and Steel Group Mining Company investigated the whole process of the oxidized ore system of Sijiaying Iron Mine, and found out the main reasons for the low grade of concentrate, low metal recovery rate and high grade of tailings. In view of the low ore grade of the ore, the researchers first pre-screened the ore and separated the fine-grained ore that was easily muddy in advance. At the same time, the re-election and sorting process was increased, the re-election and flotation ratios were adjusted, and the new collectors were developed simultaneously with the nature of the ore.

High-lime low-grade refractory hematite utilization technology has achieved remarkable economic, social and environmental benefits through practical application. Through the use of this technology, Sijiaying Iron Mine's 6.3 million tons of high-sludge low-grade hard-to-select hematite can be comprehensively recycled. While it is difficult to select hematite by recycling high-sludge low-grade grades and create considerable economic benefits, the Sijiaying iron ore mine site has also achieved more scientific planning, and the open-pit mining environment has been greatly improved. More importantly, the high-sludge low-grade and difficult-to-select hematite utilization technology provides a feasible solution for the treatment of other types of low-grade refractory hematite ore and rock and rock junctions in the Sijiaying mining area.
