LED car light development accelerates to meet the "car lighting challenge"

According to US media reports, Ford has partnered with NextEnergy in the United States to accelerate the development of LED lights for vehicles with the theme of automotive lighting challenges. The event invited suppliers to compete with other players under different challenges, aiming to advance in specific areas. The Michigan Economic Development Board and Detroit and NextEnergy will provide up to $40,000 (approximately RMB 245,000) in prizes for the winners of the Golden Ideas in order to create jobs in Michigan. The featherweight challenge requires that the lighting products developed by the participants radiate the maximum amount of light with the lowest weight. Other competitions involve innovative capabilities for mass production of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) that can be assembled into seats and doors, daylight simulation, recycling, and structural integration. The company noted that its new Ford F-150 pickups have LED headlights, exterior mirror lights and cargo lights, while the Ford Mustang's brake lights, directional lights and taillights are fully LED.
