A new virus was discovered by the team at San Diego State University. The study showed that more than half of the volunteers had found the virus in the human colon cancer cell sampling study. The researchers called this discovered virus CrAssphage. And said that this virus may affect some common bacterial behavior in the intestine.
The researchers said that the virus phagocytose the genetic fingerprints, which means that the virus can infect bacteria. Probiotics are a key component of the human intestinal ecosystem. The presence of this virus can help control the growth and decrease of bacteria. Scientists don't know why the virus that ubiquitously found in our intestines escaped discovery for so long, but at least CrAssphage finally has its own Wikipedia page.
