MIT: The new imaging system reads everything without having to open a book

MIT's imaging system will become the patron saint of ancient books

Beijing time on September 12, according to foreign media reports, as the saying goes, people can not be out of shape, the sea can not measure. This doctrine also applies to the book, just look at the cover, you never know whether it is a good book. However, driven by science and technology, this concept is being hitherto unknown challenges. Researchers at MIT and Georgia Tech recently developed a new imaging system that can "read through the ages," a book without having to open a book.

The researchers said that the system can read a 9-page text at a time, truly a ten line. The technology, which sounds very similar to X-rays, is called terahertz radiation and its image processing system can penetrate multiple layers of books directly, though the ink has an effect on its "reading" effect. The aforementioned X-ray is unable to achieve this effect, there is no corresponding ultrasound depth resolution.

So how does this system make it a ten-line? It turned out to be based on the recognition of different text on the paper showing different light reflection, the accuracy of up to 20 microns level.

Of course, this technology is just beginning, researchers can already identify the first 20 pages of the book and read the first 9 pages of the text directly through the system. Right now, their goal is to improve the accuracy of the system while enhancing its ability to read beyond the current nine-page limit.

In the future, the imaging system will become a book-cleaning artifact. Researchers also hope to preserve the precious ancient books (which have been damaged and can not stand the turning). Right now, the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art has expressed interest in the system.

HONGWUHUAN Down-The-Hole Drill is a new, highly efficient and extensively applied open-air rock drilling equipment designed by our company, which is extensively suitable for small and medium sized mines and the projects such as communications, national defense, water conservancy and stonework, in particular the rough and rugged terrains and land forms where other drills are unable to operate normally. We have models of HQD70, HQD110, HQF100 and HQJ100, all of which are capable of drilling vertical and horizontal blast holes. They have low gravity centers, excellent detachability and are easy-handling. The DTH drill shall be used with drill rod, impactor and drill bit. Users can select appropriate impactors   according to the actual demand.
