China's first re-manufactured shield machine using domestic main bearing Hefei off the assembly line

Many people have seen the shield machine. When Zhengzhou built the Metro Line 1, it was a "great star." At present, domestic ownership has exceeded 1200 units and is widely used in urban rail transit construction, railway and highway tunnel projects, and water diversion projects.

However, because the shield is a short-lived, high-value-cost equipment, as its “ageing” continues to increase, a large number of shields suffer from serious performance degradation, increasing use costs, and even scrapping, and then implement remanufacturing. Has significant social and economic benefits. However, the key component of the shield machine, the main bearing manufacturing technology, has been monopolized by a few well-known international bearing companies and is the bottleneck of the remanufacturing of the shield machine.

In 2014, China Railway Tunnel Group and Luoyang LYC Bearing Co., Ltd. jointly exerted their respective advantages and utilized the innovation platforms of the two national key laboratories of the enterprises to launch an impact on the localization of the main bearings of the shield machine.

“The newly developed main bearing has a diameter of 2.6 meters and can meet the continuous working of more than 15,000 hours for 6 to 7 meters in diameter. It has formed six independent intellectual property rights and a number of special standards for raw material design, which indicates that China has mastered it. The core technology of the tunnel shield machine broke the technical monopoly of a few foreign companies and realized the localization of the main bearing of the shield, said the relevant person in charge of the Provincial Science and Technology Department.
