A hydraulic motor is a mechanical actuator that converts hydraulic pressure and flow into torque and angular displacement (rotation). The hydraulic motor is the rotary counterpart of the hydraulic cylinder as a linear actuator. Most broadly, the category of devices called hydraulic motors has sometimes included those that run on hydropower (namely, water engines and water motors) but in today's terminology the name usually refers more specifically to motors that use hydraulic fluid as part of closed hydraulic circuits in modern hydraulic machinery.
Conceptually, a hydraulic motor should be interchangeable with a hydraulic pump because it performs the opposite function - similar to the way a DC electric motor is theoretically interchangeable with a DC electrical generator. However, many hydraulic pumps cannot be used as hydraulic motors because they cannot be backdriven. Also, a hydraulic motor is usually designed for working pressure at both sides of the motor, whereas most hydraulic pumps rely on low pressure provided from the reservoir at the input side and would leak fluid when abused as a motor.[1]

According to the latest statistics released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, due to factors such as rising oil prices and renewed price wars in the auto market leading to some consumers holding coins for purchase, the domestic auto market continued to show a pullback trend in May, and sales of the top ten car manufacturers fell by a month-on-month. Compared with the same period last year, it still maintained rapid growth.
According to statistics from the China Automotive Industry Association, China's auto production in May this year was 581,100 units, a decrease of 15.31% from the previous month and an increase of 26.69% year-on-year; sales of 567,500 units were down 15.67% from the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 21.03%. Among the major automobile varieties, passenger cars produced and sold 413,500 vehicles and 393,600 vehicles, which represented a decrease of 14.40% and 15.97% from the previous month and an increase of 35.93% and 24.08% respectively. Commercial vehicles were sold at 176,600 units and 173,900 units, which was more than the previous month. The decrease was 17.48% and 14.99%, which was an increase of 8.49% and 14.64% respectively.
The top ten automobile manufacturers in sales in May were: FAW, SAIC, Dongfeng, Beiqi, Chang'an, Hafei, Chery, Guangzhou Automobile, Geely and Brilliance, which sold 95,400, 95,000, 75,000, and 53,600 respectively. There were 49,800 vehicles, 22,400 vehicles, 22,100 vehicles, 19,600 vehicles, 19,400 vehicles, and 1,900 vehicles. Compared with the previous month, with the exception of Geely and Brilliance, there was a slight increase; other companies showed declines to varying degrees; Compared with the same period of last year, except for the slight drop of Changan and Guangzhou Automobile, other companies have shown rapid growth, of which Brilliance has the most significant increase. The above-mentioned ten companies sold a total of 477,300 vehicles in May, accounting for 83.05% of the total sales of automobiles.
