Sinopec News Network (Zhang Lanying) Recently, the Yanshan Petrochemical Rubber Division established a preparatory group for the bromobutyl rubber project and began preparation work for the project in the early stages. According to the relevant plan, Yanshan Petrochemical's annual production capacity of 30,000 tons of bromobutyl rubber production plant was completed and put into operation in the Rubber Division at the end of 2008.
Sinopec Group Company attaches great importance to the construction of a bromobutyl rubber plant. Last year, the Yanshan Petrochemical Bromobutyl Rubber Project was included in the “ten-long research†project of the Group during the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan†period. Bromobutyl rubber is an irreplaceable raw material for the production of tubeless radial tire inner liners for vehicles. With the rapid development of China's tire industry, the consumption of bromobutyl rubber has exceeded that of ordinary butyl rubber. Currently, domestic demand all depends on imports, and the price is above 30,000 yuan/ton. Brominated butyl rubber is the future trend of butyl rubber development, and the outlook is very promising. It is understood that the Yanhua brominated butyl rubber to be put into construction will use foreign bromobutyl rubber technology improved, digested, absorbed and reinvented by Yanshan Petrochemical. The installation will be completed by the end of 2008.
At present, there is no industrialized bromobutyl rubber plant in the country to learn from, in order to reduce and avoid the risks posed by technical problems, Yanshan Petrochemical Company spent two years to digest the foreign bromobutyl rubber technology. During the period, relevant experts of relevant departments, rubber divisions, design institutes, and research institutes were successively organized to carry out major improvements and optimizations on this technology, and finally a new technology package with independent intellectual property rights was formed and compiled. In 2006, Yanshan Petrochemical Rubber Division cooperated with the company's development planning department and Sinopec Engineering Design Corporation (SEI) to complete a feasibility study for the construction of a 30,000-ton/year bromobutyl rubber plant project, and reported it to Sinopec Group Corporation for approval. In order to ensure that the bromobutyl rubber plant will be successfully completed and put into operation by the end of 2008, the Yanshan Petrochemical Rubber Division established the preparatory group for the bromobutyl rubber project in line with the principle of “early start, early intervention, and professional supportâ€. The members of the preparatory group include old experts who have participated in butyl rubber projects, preparations for construction and construction, and young and middle-aged intellectuals who have participated in or participated in the work of butyl rubber vehicles, technical research, etc., as well as in recent years. The outstanding university graduates of the factory specialize in technology, analysis, equipment, instrumentation, electrical, data, and simulation training. Because butyl rubber technology is extremely confidential, the division signed confidential contracts and service agreements with all members. According to the requirements of the work plan of the preparatory group for the bromobutyl rubber project, the first step is to ask the old butyl rubber expert to explain the basic knowledge and process flow of bromobutyl rubber, so that the members of the preparatory group will understand and become familiar with the production process of bromobutyl rubber. Afterwards, we will begin to make preparations for translation of technical data, refinement of process parameters, implementation of raw material sources, analysis of analytical methods, preparation of operation and analysis manuals, and engineering design with SEI.
