Since its establishment in Wuhan in 2006, Cummins East Asia Research and Development Center is China's first Sino-foreign joint venture engine technology center. The cumulative investment in the past five years reached 61 million U.S. dollars, of which the total investment for the second phase of the project is 33 million U.S. dollars. The R & D center adopts Cummins globally universal tools, equipment and technical standards, has passed ISO9001, 14001 and 19001 quality, health and safety environment certification, after the completion of the second phase will support the development of all Cummins engines from 2.8 to 19 liters, the application of its products It covers a wide range of markets including automobiles, construction machinery, generator sets and ship engines.

The Cummins East Asia Research and Development Center currently has 10 engine test benches that can support Euro V standards and off-road phase 3 emissions tests. Heavy-duty horsepower benches can perform emissions certifications in Europe, Russia, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, and Brazil. Provide "passes" for Chinese OEMs to enter the international market. At present, China's heavy-duty horsepower requires full-flow emission testing. The Cummins East Asia Research and Development Center will build a new medium-horsepower full-flow emission testing system in 2012 and 2013. The second phase of the project will total 22 test benches and will be put into use in the first quarter of 2012. By then, it will be able to have the industry-leading capabilities of Euro VI and non-road phase 4 emission testing, new energy, noise and vibration, cold start, generator set testing, etc., providing China's OEMs with sparkling “business cards” for entering European and American high-end markets. . Among them, the new energy laboratory can realize research and development from the entire new energy power drive system to components (including motors, battery packs, battery management systems, etc.). The vibration and noise laboratory will have the ability to include exhaust after-treatment systems and engine noise testing to effectively increase laboratory utilization. The new training room and guest room will provide professional technical training for joint ventures, OEMs, customers and distributors.

Cummins East Asia Research and Development Center is also focusing on its own energy conservation and emission reduction while developing clean power: All 11 new engine test bench dynamometers use AC dynamometers. When the engine is running, the electrical energy generated by the AC dynamometer will be distributed to the power station, which will save 15% of the electrical energy at full load. Engine exhaust heat energy will be recycled to the water heating system, saving natural gas consumption. The second phase of the building itself uses natural light to the maximum extent, thereby improving the environment of the bench test area and saving energy. The R&D center also uses a wastewater separator to perform special treatment of all wastewater.

The five-year development history of Cummins East Asia R&D Center not only witnessed the improvement of localized research and development capabilities, but also marked the continuous deepening of the cooperation between Cummins and the Chinese OEMs represented by Dongfeng. With the commissioning of the second phase of the project, the R&D center will support the testing and development of products from 2.8 to 19 liters, and will include almost all Cummins products that are locally produced in China. All efforts will enable Cummins to develop products that are more in line with the Chinese market and more to promote the success of Chinese customers.

Oxygen Machine is one kind of product producing oxygen from air. There are small oxygen machine providing 3-10 liter per minute flow, mainly using at home. There are also big Industrial Oxygen Generator providing oxygen with flow rate up to 10000 Nm3/hr. From technology, there are pressure swing adsorption(PSA) , vacuum swing adsorptio (VSA)and cryogenic three types. The PSA type is for smaller flow rate within 300 Nm3/hr, from 300 to 3000 Nm3/hr, it is ok to use VSA technology. For bigger flow rate, normally use cryogenic Oxygen Plant.


No matter what technology, these oxygen machines all use oxygen in the air. All use Air Compressor to provide raw material, compressed air. Then the compressed air will be cleaned, dried for futher separation. After separation, the produced oxygen either directly goes to oxygen using point or they are compressed into high pressure such as 150 bars or 200 bars, then stored in cylinders and tanks.
