Alfa Laval receives orders for seven U-shaped Alfa Laval PureSOx systems
Recently, Alfa Laval received orders for seven U-mix Alfa Laval PureSOx systems from Grimaldi. The order was an important milestone as the second of these scrubbers was also the 100th U-type scrubber sold by Alfa Laval.
Alfa Laval offers both U-shaped and in-line Type I scrubbers, but the U-shape is still the “classic†version of the PureSOx scrubber, as it is still the best choice for most ships. Since its launch five years ago, Alfa Laval has sold 100 U-washers as a strong proof.
Each PureSOx scrubber on Grimaldi's boat will be connected to a MAN two-stroke. These boats will be equipped with a hybrid scrubber that provides both an open loop and a closed loop mode.
It is reported that Alfa Laval plans to deliver the first PureSOx scrubber ordered at the end of the first quarter of 2017 and will begin installation in the second quarter. The last of the seven scrubbers ordered will be delivered in the first quarter of 2018.
