Effect of size and shape of gold particles on the rate of gold cyanide leaching

When other conditions are the same, the number of gold particles and the gold leaching is proportional to the surface area of contact. The behavior of gold particles in cyanide leaching can be divided into: coarse gold (greater than 70 microns), fine gold (70 to 1 micron), and fine gold (less than 1 micron). It takes a long time to completely dissolve the coarse gold, and it is generally not treated by cyanidation. After grinding, fine-grained gold exists in a free state and an unwrapped continuum. Due to the large exposed area of gold, it is well dissolved during cyanidation. The particulate gold cannot be completely dissociated during the grinding process, and most of it remains in the mineral and is not exposed, and it is difficult to be directly dissolved by cyanide.
The shape of the gold particles also has a great influence on the dissolution of gold. The dissolution of the flaky gold is linear with the dissolution time. The larger spherical shape of the small spherical shape dissolves much faster, and the dissolution of the spherical gold particles is initially fast and then decreases as the diameter of the sphere decreases. The gold particles with inner cavities are gradually expanding due to the dissolution surface, so the dissolution rate is gradually accelerated.
The gold particles are exposed to a lot during grinding, and the contact area with cyanide is large, so the gold leaching speed is fast. Therefore, the fineness of grinding in domestic concentrate cyanide plants mostly requires -325 mesh to account for 80-95%, while the majority of all mud cyanide plants are controlled at -325 mesh accounts for 60-80%.
