The domestic plastic machinery industry expects changes and enhances comprehensive competitiveness

With the development of China's plastics industry, the domestic plastic machinery industry has seen rapid development in recent years, and its annual growth rate has remained at around 30%. However, what makes people feel slightly embarrassed is that, compared with the rapid growth of data, the weakness of the comprehensive competitiveness of the domestic press industry is gradually exposed.

As we all know, as an important technical equipment, plastic processing machinery is widely used in various sectors of the national economy such as building materials industry, packaging industry, electrical and electronic information industry, agriculture, automotive and transportation, light industry, petrochemical industry, machinery industry, national defense industry, etc. The various fields of people’s lives are increasingly showing an extremely important role in the national economy.

However, according to statistics, in the past ten years, China's plastics machinery industry recorded sales of 28 billion yuan in the highest year, with an average annual rate of less than 14% in the world and only 6% in the export market. More than 50% of the domestic market share is occupied by imported equipment. Especially in the production of certain products, imported equipment occupies a dominant position. For example, the production of heat-resistant PET cleaning lines in China is almost entirely accomplished by imported equipment; all high-grade film production equipment is also an introduced production line.

How to change the status quo of the domestic plastics processing machinery industry is not competitive is undoubtedly particularly critical. The International Plastics Association Secretary-General Luo Baihui suggested that the domestic plastics processing machinery industry must continuously increase the added value of products to break the bottleneck of low-level imitation development, promote the transformation and upgrading of industries to high-end, and thus enhance the overall competitiveness of the entire industry.

In this regard, the International Plastics Association Secretary-General Luo Baihui pointed out that compared with the world's advanced level, the domestic plastics processing machinery industry in the quality stability, degree of automation and so there is still a certain gap. The data shows that China imports tens of thousands of sets of plastic machines each year, and the value of imported plastic processing equipment is approximately twice that of domestic plastic machinery. It can be seen that foreign advanced plastic machinery manufacturers have a relatively clear competitive advantage in technology.
