According to Lin Rongyi, in recent years, due to the high prices of raw materials for the preparation of white carbon black by precipitation methods and sulfuric acid, production costs have increased, and the white carbon market has become fiercely competitive. In order to reduce production costs and occupy an advantageous position in the market, domestic companies have been seeking the ideal silicon source for the production of silica. At present, the raw materials for the preparation of silica have been extended from traditional silanes and water glass to non-metallic minerals, and further developed to industrial wastes and biomass raw materials.
Lin Rongyi said that China's non-metallic mineral resources are very abundant, but in the process of development and utilization, many amorphous silicas are not well utilized. Full use of non-metallic minerals, industrial waste, and biomass resources will not only reduce the production costs of white carbon, but also increase resource utilization and economic efficiency, and reduce environmental pollution.
Lin Rongyi pointed out that as the country continues to strengthen its efforts in environmental protection, high-valued production of white carbon black from industrial waste residues has become a research hotspot in recent years. The rapid development of non-metallic ore preparation technology for white carbon provides a new direction for the comprehensive development and utilization of non-metallic minerals in China and the development of white carbon black industry.
Non-metallic preparation of white carbon technology attracts attention
On April 22, the “China White Carbon Industry Development Forum 2010†organized by China Chemical Industry News was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Lin Rongyi, from the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, introduced the new technology for the preparation of silica from non-metallic minerals at the forum.
