Beijing's electricity load breaks the record and the power company says that it will not pull power cuts

Yesterday, the rated load of Beijing Power Grid reached 16.66 million kilowatts, setting a record high for the load history of Beijing Power Grid. This is the 7th historical breakthrough of the city's electricity load this year. The power company stated that, despite this, the city will not take any measures to limit power cuts. At present, the overall operation of the Beijing power grid is stable and there are already more than 400 attendants.

According to relevant personages of the Municipal Electric Power Company, yesterday's grid load curve began to show a significant upward trend from 9:00 am and reached the rated value before and after noon, in which air-conditioning cooling load accounted for 1/3. It is reported that this year's rated electricity load already exceeds the forecasted 1 million kilowatts. Most of Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Power Reserve Capacity has been put into production, and the power supply situation is overall tight.

Beijing is a typical receiver network. During the peak period of electricity use, about 75% of the power resources are provided by provinces and regions.

Relevant person in charge of the power company stated that at present, the city has started a power engineering inspection work of the rated scale, and the city has 4,100 person-times on-the-job inspections of important regional routes. In addition, in order to ensure the timely detection of distressed facilities, 470 people’s caregivers are currently employed this month, and they are located in urban areas such as Haidian and Fengtai. At the same time, in order not to affect the public's electricity use, the city has started more than two hundred live-in repairs.

Yesterday, the deputy mayor of Jilin City of Jilin expressed sympathy to the cadres and workers who were fighting on the front line of power supply protection. The power supply department hopes that the public will avoid peak hours between 11:00-13:00 noon and 16:00-18:00 pm.
